DJ Jon Glover
Jon is a professional DJ on the club circuit and regularly DJ’s at MuMu’s and The Source in Maidstone. With decades of experience in DJ’ing, Jon now broadcasts regularly on local radio stations, but his real passion is passing on his love and knowledge of how to DJ. To achieve this he started the Kent DJ Academy. His mission is take anyone with zero knowledge of how to DJ and transform them into someone that can entertain and carry a crowd. The only qualifications you need is a love of music and enthusiasm.
“Jon’s enthusiasm is infectious, you may have had a bad day at work, but a session with Jon will put a smile on your face”
“I’m a big fan of old hip hop beats, funky house, disco, cheesy but glorious odd stuff, soul, funk and occasionally some grimey breakbeats, drum & bass and tough driving banging cuts. Passion for collecting all those awesome party hardy gems my crowd have probably forgotten about and surprising them by dropping them in all the right places.”
With over 20 years of DJ experience, Jon has held residencies and guest gigs at various clubs in London, South East of England (and occasionally overseas) including The Source Bar, The Loft, Davinchi’s/Liquid Lounge, The Base (East Sussex), Quigleys, The Gallery, V Bar, The River Bar. My music has taken me as far as Tenerife and Bar M in Ibiza. My most recent sets have been with various music bars and clubs (Ethos, Drakes in Maidstone, R Bar and The Source Bar) and currently a Saturday night resident at Mu Mu Maidstone.
Planet of Sound founders, Geoff & Raz have both been trained by Jon. “Jon’s enthusiasm is infectious, you may have had a bad day at work, but a session with Jon will put a smile on your face – and from our point of view, it drives us on to make our music project a success”.
Jon is the master of the decks, but we want to encourage his students to contribute their work to our site so we can give him a run for his money.
With so much technology at our fingertips, it is now so easy to be creative with music if you know how.
